Tanning Salons: What to Expect
Do you have a tanning salon in your area? You probably have several. Tanning salons are a booming business these days. It's considered fashionable and attractive by many to have a glowing tan. People just aren't satisfied with pale skin and want to get a healthy bronze color that makes them look like they just spent a week or two at the beach. These salons offer that to customers, in a couple different ways.
Many salons have tanning beds for customers to use. A tanning bed looks somewhat like a bed, but has a top that is closed over the tanner, not completely of course. Many people find a tanning bed a bit claustrophobic at first but soon become used to it. The tanning bed is turned on, and the UV lamps contained inside the bed work to tan the skin. Tanning beds work much faster than the sun. Many people only tan for about five to twenty minutes per session. Always read and follow all safety regulations of the salon in regards to tanning. You will need protection for your eyes, in the form of goggles made for tanning beds. You will probably also want to use a lotion to protect your skin from drying and accelerate results.
Sunless tanning is another service offered by many salons. There are two basic methods of sunless tanning you'll find in a professional setting. The first is an airbrush tan that is applied by a technician. The technician will coat your skin evenly with sunless tanning solution using a special airbrushing machine. After the solution is dry, you can get dressed and go home. In a few hours, your tan will develop. The other method of sunless tanning offered at many salons is the automated spray tanning booth. You simply stand in the booth, get sprayed with tanning solution, turn around, get sprayed again, and you're done. It's fast, easy and totally safe!
Because tanning salons are so popular, you'll often find they compete with one another by offering a variety of attractive packages and discount deals. If you choose to use the tanning beds, for example, you can often get unlimited tanning for a reduced rate. A little comparison shopping is all that's needed to find the best tanning salon for your needs!
